There are a few outlying areas in my yard that just don’t get the attention they should. I see the weeds taking hold, but I have other priorities and I tell myself that I’ll get to them when I can.
Of course by then the weeds have won and I either have a major overhaul on my hands or I can wait for winter to kill them back and convince myself that I will get to them earlier next year.
Accidental Weed Control
I had needed a spot to hide some potted divisions and one of my weedy patches seemed the perfect place to stash them. When I went to grab the pots, the weeds were pale and had barely grown at all.
So this was a quick fix I stumbled on by accident. Just temporarily place some container or lay a board on top of them, until you have a chance to get back to the area. Depriving them of sunlight and air goes a long way toward slowing them down, if not killing them entirely. Seriously, what a thrill!
